The workshop envisages to sensitize the people about the water crisis and make them conscious about water conservation. It is significant for their awareness on the critical issue of water scarcity which has been prevailing in Gurugram district since the past few years and prepares them to effectively strategize on solutions for the same.
The interactive workshop will make use of brainstorming sessions, presentations, practical demonstrations and exposure visits to provide an experiential learning experience for the participants. The workshop will ensure boosting the leadership skills, team building, and facilitation skills in order to mold the target group to drive the campaign towards water conservation.

The sessions will develop a knowledge base and understanding of several key concepts pertaining to water conservation. The agenda for the workshop will be as follows:

  • Knowledge dissemination on the green, blue and grey water footprint and strategizing on setting up goals and action points.

  • Practical knowledge gaining on drip irrigation techniques, rain rooftop harvesting structures and re-use of water

  • Sharing of best practices being adopted and the challenges on the implementation of techniques.

10:00 A.M. - Registration of participants
Participants will register themselves at Navjyoti India Foundation, Rural Management, and Training Institute.

10:20 A.M. – 10:30 A.M. - Welcome and opening
Welcome and Introduction of the partners, GuruJal. An ice-breaker activity will be conducted and expectations for the workshop
will be set.

10:30 A.M. – 11:10 A.M. - Solving water crisis and smart water use
The participants will share the best practices being adopted by them. A group exercise will be conducted to understand the challenges on the implementation of techniques. Further brainstorming will be done to understand the ways to resolve challenges.

11:10 A.M. – 12:20 P.M. - Water footprint and virtual water
The concept of green, blue and grey water footprint will be discussed. Knowledge of the concept of virtual water will be disseminated. A team game will be conducted to understand the concept. This will be followed by setting up personal goals and action points to become water conscious.

12:20 P.M. – 12:40 P.M. - Break-time

12:40 P.M. – 02:00 P.M. - Water conservation techniques in agriculture, the revival of ponds, rain rooftop harvesting, and water re-use
A practical demonstration will be done on the use of drip irrigation and rain rooftop harvesting system. This will be followed by exposure to the nearby village to show check dam, pond revival systems and rain rooftop harvesting in school.

Reach on Sohna Road via NH 48/Rajiv Chowk or Golf Course Extension Road or Southern Periphery Road, cross Badshahpur Village. On your left, you will see the signage of Central Jail, Bhondsi. Take a left turn towards Bhondsi Jail Road via Dhumaspur Road. Drive for approx. 5 km and you will reach the venue, Navjyoti India Foundation. Please do not follow the google map.
